PREPARATION & APPLICATION ON MASONRY

Before application, dust the surface thoroughly. If the surface is especially porous, a light misting of water is recommended to assist in the workability of the Cerusing Paste. For a more industrial, aged appearance, cross thatch the brushing, building up more in some areas (potentially as a second coat) for a more varied look. Can be brushed or ragged on. Leave for 4 hours to dry.

SANDING & SEALING ON MASONRY

Cerusing Paste can be left as is if you're after an opaque look, or if a semi-transparent look is preferred, it can be rubbed back with a green or blue scourer, or even lightly with steel wool. Test in a small area beforehand, as steel wool may be too abrasive.

Internally, we recommend you seal the surfaces with 1 coat of our Dustproofer, Clear Colourcoat. Externally, the surface needs to be sealed with Silicone Water Repellent, which requires 2 coats, wet on wet. The base colour is an off white, but Cerusing Paste can be tinted to any colour, such blacks, greys, browns, or other requested colours.

PREPARATION & APPLICATION ON TIMBER

Before application, the timber needs to be pre-sealed. We recommend using our H2O Interior Stain and Floor coating system. The ideal way to have a great contrast is for the stain to be a significantly darker colour than the Cerusing Paste, or the reverse, a very light coloured timber with a very dark Cerusing Paste. The more textured the timber, the more the Cerusing Paste will highlight. Wire brushing the timber before staining will add to this effect. For a more industrial, aged appearance, cross thatch the brushing building up more in some areas (potentially as a second coat) for a more varied look. Can be brushed or ragged on. Leave for 4 hours to dry.

If used on a floor, the Cerusing Paste must be sealed with our Floor Coating System or Rich Wood Oil. For less intensive uses, you can seal with the aforementioned, as well as Oil Acrylic, Bees Wax Polish, or Restoring Wax
